For fun, I compared the specs of the Switch OLED to the PS5. It's literally a cutting-edge PC (well, almost cutting-edge) with a controller. Hogwarts plays perfectly on there from what I've heard, but it's also stupidly powerful. To complete the loop there, we don't even need to talk about the PS5. If it's functional, it will likely be the final big port to the Switch, and a true masterpiece of gaming otherwise, it will be sadly unplayable (but, I'm guessing they plan on doing whatever it takes to make it playable). And, all through a large OLED screen, too. Let's just a take a moment to realise how magical that truly is, honestly. You're pretty much playing a PS4 game of the world of Harry Potter, in your pocket (or, rather, bag). I don't have PS4/PS5 and my laptop cannot run it, so I have to wait for Switch version. I have been waiting for a Hogwarts MMORPG type of game for literally 10 years. That's still great for such a modern game - and it seems that it will be coming to cart, not just digital version. So, the Switch port will likely be (a) smaller game (b) 720p (at most) and (c) 25 fps (or so). I think Hogwarts Legacy is about 900p and 30 fps on the PS4. These games struggle on the PS4, let alone Switch or PS3. This is why Nintendo need to gift us new hardware by late-2024. The problem we're seeing as of 2023 is, we're trying to port PS5 games over to the Switch. So, the Switch is a really bad PS4, the size of a large phone! PS4 is 4x more powerful than the PS3 and has almost 8gb more RAM. 1080p/30 hz (mostly 30 fps, sometimes 60 fps, sometimes down to 720p-ish) 1 TFLOPS (compared to the 0.1 TFLOPS of the PS3 - 10x, compared to 1.8 of PS4, almost 2x) Remember: Switch tech was built in 2016, and PS4 in 2012. It's shocking due to the size difference. Shockingly, the PS4 is way better than the Switch - but not endlessly better. The problem with the Switch is not that it's weak - but that the PS5 is insanely powerful. It's not 'a bit more RAM' - it's endlessly more RAM, and some other key specs.

You either didn't fully understand how bad the PS3 is for current gaming, or you lied. That's why they can put games on the Switch that are impossible on the PS3 without major issues. It's a lot more powerful than the PS3 in terms of both RAM and CPU, coupled with better dev tools. The Switch is actually like a really bad PS4. I just compared the Switch v2/OLED (2019/2021) to the PS3 160gb and to PS4.
